Last yr got the broadcast almost on button (actual 1047k), but overshot the cable number (actual 311k). I use Showbuzz for the #'s. The actual Avg was 747k with 1 games simulcast.
For USFL -2023. Going with a mixed 820k avg viewers - across all 43 games. High range 900k, low 740k.
About 1020k broadcast and 400k cable.
Factors
- smaller TV markets 15.1% Households vs 16.1% in 2022 (TB to Memphis)
- More Broadcast games
- Only 13 Prime time games
- Prerelease of games/TV schedule
- Playing in 4 market vs only 1 2022
- Less MLS on TV
- More consistent schedule
- Possible FB fatigue with XFL
- No teams playing in Philly/NJ-NY TV markets
- Late spring schedule still < winter for TV viewership IMO, its hard to compete with nice weather.

Re: USFL 2023 TV Viewers Predictions
Not quite ready to make a macro prediction on the whole season yet, but I'll give a go for week 1. I believe the 3 network games will cumulatively average 1.2 million and the FS1 telecast 375k

Re: USFL 2023 TV Viewers Predictions
Best case scenario is USFL opening weekend averages over a million on the big channels and XFL can be around 700k to prove there is a market for both. The opening game likely won’t match last years given there isn’t a simulcast this year

That and no Easter. Sunday noon numbers will be interesting to watch, not impossible for ESPN to top NBC.

Re: USFL 2023 TV Viewers Predictions
Per my post in Week 6 thread:
>> Its looking like the two leagues will be doing similar numbers when its done. Another item to note is NBC does stronger numbers than FOX.
My preseason viewer predictions are off, similar to the XFL's. Now looking at 635-670k. XFL had the winter season to get bigger numbers and under performed, USFL more broadcast but also under performing. <<
Let me add that the 2 Fox Primetime Sunday games in June on 7pm are going up against SNB on ESPN both of which feature the monster games NY vs Boston... No luck for USFL.
