Detroit Ford Field hub

With just under 3 months till season 2 I do think the Detroit Hub in such a large field is a "gutsy" move. It's a big Stadium for spring FB. Hopefully they can get 15-20k but thats' not easy. Wish this was announced 2 months earlier. But it's good to have 3 teams in home cities and 1 more in range. Say 3.5 with 4 hubs.

Another thing is Detroit and Canton are under 4 hours apart on the road. That may have played into the Canton decision. It's similar to Memphis-Birm distance.

Now the question is when Michigan plays NJ "away"... will the game be at Michigan or Canton. Same goes for all the in market games vs non-hosted cities.

The positive with ford is it’s lit Similar to an NBA arena where the only think you really see on tv is the bottom 50% of the lower bow, the other stuff we’ll see probably in the next few days

I wonder if the Detroit hub was dependent on the league cutting ties with B. Woods. Remember, he still owes Ford Field $1 million for non-payment in the TSL. Perhaps Detroit said, either he goes or no deal. Woods really should have never been involved to begin with.

One of the biggest benefits of Ford field is it should be really easy to make look good on TV because of how the lighting is done you only see a small section of the crowd

Wow - Good shot, I see what you mean. And you need a Dome to do that so FF worked out.

This question is asked so often regarding teams being in their respective cities. It is the GOAL, but to think it's that simple is just not logical. As the 'Moose' @DarylJohnston
says, it has to be a move where it's going to be successful.

Seems like similar to memphis we may have billionaires involved in getting the team to the city

This is going to be a lot better than Ypsilanti. That was too far for people to drive to see the WFL in 1974, and gas is expensive this year too.

I only visited Ypsilanti once, while living down the road in Ann Arbor. I think Detroiters don't know the place exists.

What are you talking about? Detroiters have no problem crossing the Border to play at the Windsor Casino
