Ouch for USFL

Thumbs up for Cookus.

Agreed, USFL needs to make a good case to get Case back or he'll be in XFL if not NFL.
Had it not been for his injury, he would have been at an NFL training camp.

One USFL team, the Maulers have 5 QBs in two returners (Vad Lee and Roland Rivers III) and three new signees (James Morgan, Troy Williams and Chase Fourcade) so something has got to give there, whether its trades or it's quite possible that Lee and Rivers are free agents on December 31st.

There's a good chance that Cookus gets called up and sticks for the year with Stafford likely headed for season ending IR, McVay keeps three QBs anyway.

Think CBS is lobbying the NFL to flex out of Broncos/Rams Xmas day? What a disaster (although we could conceivably see both CC and JJ on each 53 or as PSCs).

Does Philly bring back KJ Costello? His name has been silent since he was released by the Saints in training camp. Was the XFL even interested in him? I was quite surprised that the XFL had no interest in him at all.

Stafford inactive for Sunday, meaning Cookus could get a PS elevation, possibly ending up on the 53 at some point.

Of course McVay is having 1987 Parcells flashbacks (namely Parcells' replacement team rushing to LT to get his autograph 30 minutes before they played Buffalo, a 6-3 loss that he says was the worst game he ever coached in).............................

Stafford is inactive, but John Wolford is also injured. So if both are inactive, Cookus has a really good chance at being the #2, with a Bryce Perkins injury away from actually playing in an NFL game.

Well, it looks like Paxton Lynch won't be back in the USFL:

Wonder if Bruno was wrong about him signing the option

There's still plenty of time. And he can probably help move a few tickets in Memphis.

From what I understand, players under USFL contract can still participate in the NFLAA. It would be like Bryan Scott, still under USFL contract, working with Jordan Palmer. There are a few USFL players on the NFLAA roster.
