“It’s notable to hear Murdoch speak specifically about the USFL being a long-term play for Fox, though (it’s even featured on the main Fox Corp. website, as seen at top), and to hear that he envisions eventually selling some or all teams to local ownership. (Local support isn’t that notable yet, especially with all regular season games this year played in Birmingham, but the year two plan is reportedly for actual home games, and the league is already doing some outreach in the markets its teams are named for.) We’ll see how that plan goes for them.”

Awful Announcing is a really big site so it’d stand to reason that they may know or have heard something, I’m really hoping their reporting is right and the USFL is reaching out to markets to play there next year
USFL has reached out to cities and will play games in cities according to report

If the USFL moves to the cities, they need to go small (ie College or MLS) but that could be a problem in Tampa and Pittsburgh, neither of whom have a 15,000-20,000 seat stadium.

I would rather they go to the 8000-10000 seat stadiums in those areas than the nfl stadiums

Ya just something to keep an eye on. I will say if we’ve learned anything about fox/USFL they only release information when they’re 100% ready, for better or worse4th&long wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 2:14 pmBut the article they reference is from Feb. The people in Pittsburgh say their expands up to about 9000. The Tampa one is almost 8000 I believe if not it’s just below

If owners are going to buy into these teams, there's no way they're settling on 10k seat stadiums. 15k Should be the low end expectation for attendance with an average ticket price of $30. Really, 20k per game is what should be strived for. It's only 5-6 games a year in markets of at least 1 million people. Either go for the home run or don't bother coming up to bat.

Exactly. It baffles me that some people want these teams to play in 8K capacity stadiums. Who cares if you don't sell seats in the upper deck at Raymond James Stadium, 20K there is better than 8K at some high school field.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 4:56 pm If owners are going to buy into these teams, there's no way they're settling on 10k seat stadiums. 15k Should be the low end expectation for attendance with an average ticket price of $30. We don't even know if the USFL will get to 20K in attendance for each venue. If they can't, and say they average 10,000 then having 10K in a 20,000 seat venue is better than 10K in a 70,000 seat venue.SamTheRam28 wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 5:11 pmExactly.
