NBC Sunday Philly vs Birm 12pm - no more Sixers and Phillies game is at 4pm

FOX Saturday NOLA vs NJ 3pm- No NY Ranger game on Saturday but NYM on at 1:40pm and NYY at 2:10pm and no NBA

USA Friday Mich v TB 8:pm - Both Rays an Tigers play at 7:10 separately, no TB Hockey (but others), NBA has 7pm Celts game than 10pm Warriors..

Ratings Predictions?

Both the Mets and Yanks are playing, and no rain... 1.2mm for NJ/NOLA. If some weather (esp deaying the baseball) could be better (1.4mm).

For NOLA v Philly, its a bit early 1.025mm

Friday Mich/TB match could be interesting - 420k

I'm not sure of the Houston - Pitt game, hopefully over 800k, I'm not sure the time of day may actually help.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if FOX does that for the latter, with the least appealing matchup going against a game 7 or ECF game 1, which is why I would have had Panthers/Bandits there instead.

I think FOX would have wanted that for their first Sunday game, only thing that makes sense is NBC lobbying for it in as I said a few weeks ago a mix of NCAA/NFL-style bartering.

The #USFL week 5 Friday cable rating is in and it finished 100 out of top 150 cable originals. 250k tuned in Friday night on USA Network. I’ll have broadcast games tomorrow. <<

Disappointing was hoping for 350k at least but Lots of other sports competition that night. Here's national:

2 NBA PLAYOFFS-CONF SEMIS L: BOSTON/MILWAUKEE ESPN 7:40 PM 156 1.83 5,529
6 NHL PLAYOFFS – QTR FNLS L: NY RANGERS/PITTSBURGH TURNER NETWORK TELEVISION 7:05 PM 165 8 NHL PLAYOFFS – QTR FNLS L: FLORIDA/WASHINGTON TBS NETWORK 7:30 PM 205 0.21 609

Maybe it's time to revisit that discussion from two years ago about having two broadcasts, however you wanna do it, where one has multiple games and the other is a standalone national broadcast.

I still don't think that's something you do for an eight-team league. The AFL as I remember had games on Fri/Sat/Sun and I don't think it was until NBC that they had a more regular Sunday setup (plus Thanksgiving), of course they expanded twice and were a 10-team league before the merger. But cable and Peacock are doing little to nothing for the league so it couldn't hurt to explore it again.

(This is contingent upon going to market of course)

Re: Ratings Wk 5 - Down week - rain delay hurts

NBC - 905k Sunday 1pm
FOX - 724k Saturday -3pm (45min rain delay)
FOX - 692k Sunday - 4pm
USA - 250k Friday - 1pm

the real disappointment is Saturday - no need for weather delay - killed the ratings. Should have been over 1mm easy.

The NY/NJ area was raining can't have a 1/10000000 lightning delay.

Solid Sunday rating for Birm/Philly, Slightly under for the Pitt game 100-125k. But Saturday weak.

That and PIT/HOU should not have been the one to go against Bucks/Celtics G7. Bad week of programming all around, need to step up.

The fact that they came out with the week 7 schedule yesterday instead of today indicates they know this.

Yes but look at Week 6 - NJ (3:30pm) going against NY Rangers (4pm on ESPN)- not smart. And the weather looks good in NJ/NY area on Sunday. The rest in Week 6 look ok, but that is a big miss.

It would be interesting to see how the hourly ratings were for NJ/NOLA to see if indeed was weather delay.

I estimate league needs to avg bout 800k per broadcast game to avg 1mm for season sans playoffs.

That can be done, as long as they play to the teams from here on out. We're six weeks in, the separation's there, so there's no reason to have Gamblers/Maulers/Panthers on FOX/NBC, at least against each other (and the good news is the only time that happens again is week 10, which will be either Birmingham/Tampa or Philly/Jersey with division titles/playoffs on the line).
