I guess it depends on your POV if that constitutes a small market or not.

Re: PFT: USFL Championship ratings
It was the smallest Championship by far (as luck would have it), forget rank for a moment and look at Neilsen household Market share:BattleHawks wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 5:01 pmFair enough.GregParks wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 4:30 pmIt's #26 in the country per Nielsen

I guess it depends on your POV if that constitutes a small market or not.
USFL 2023 had two of the smallest market teams totaling 1.57% (#26 ranked and #45)
(.62 birm and .95 pitt) US household marketshare,
vs 2x USFL 2022 3.11% (.62 birm and 2.51 philly) Ranked #4 and #45.
and 3x XFL 2023 4.57% (2.46 dallas and 2.11 DC). Ranked #5 and #8
Despite having 1/2 of 2022 USFL market share and a 1/3 XFL 2023 market share in their respective championships they were only down 25% and 20% respectively. Plus Twitter going down didn't help.
Market size matters in TV viewership. That's why XFL 2020 targeted large markets totaling 22% of the nation.
And NOLA is .55% and Memphis .52% (the lowest champ mkt share would be Pitt/Memphis at 1.47%
This is why I keep beating the dead horse (or Stallion ) - if you want TV ratings you need to engage your largest markets - their media/press/fans. USFL needs to be in Philly/NJ or both in 2024. N-NJ/NY alone is 6.26%
