I mean Holmes is definitely injured but I think Perez is a safer qb and will bring even more people in the stands, until we hear otherwise I’m not going to assume the TV people are telling coaches who to play. He's familiar to both Birmingham and NY/NJ viewers—having helmed the Iron in the AAF and the Guardians in the XFL. So from a pure business standpoint, his signing made sense, which makes me think that maybe there was more than just a toe issue that led to this decision. After all, this is a league owned by a TV network.
