DraftKings to have USFL betting

Post by 4th&long »

BIG NEWS

https://www.sportsbookreview.com/news/d ... fl-season/

>> SBR’s industry insiders have been in talks with all the major U.S. online sportsbooks regarding USFL betting since the league’s reincarnation was announced. We are excited to announce that DraftKings Sportsbook is the first to confirm that they will indeed be hosting betting lines for the USFL.

“We will be offering lines for when the USFL season begins in April. However, we still do not have confirmation of when and in which states these lines will be up. We are also still working on getting confirmation of which props will be offered,” said a DraftKings Sportsbook representative.

Prop betting would be an excellent aspect for the USFL and unique to the spring football world as it was something we didn’t see for the AAF in 2019 or the XFL in 2020. <<

This is huge. Gambling on the XFL made an interesting product even better so I’m sure the same will be true for the USFL.

Seems like SOP for any sport that garners any sort of national attention. The sportsbooks are going to be taking bets on it. Will the USFL be taking the fully-integrated approach the XFL did with regard to betting lines on the in-game broadcasts? It's hard to say. The USFL players are far and away more obscure than the XFL's, so it's going to be much more difficult to accurately determine good lines (and, as we all saw with the XFL, even those estimates can end up being wildly inaccurate—who predicted the Vipers would have laid an egg as big as the one they did?). I suspect smaller point spreads will be the norm at least for the first couple of weeks until we start getting a better picture of which rosters are better than the others'.

I don't think the USFL players are far and away more obscure than the XFL.

But on the betting side... Sports betting has grown alot in 2 years so get ready for USFL will be hitting it at the right time.
