Yet another new league

I was waiting for him to start another league... IMO he should wait until the XFL/USFL dust settles and if one is gone after 2024 he can fill that void.

This will be an unmitigated disaster. They plan for a team in Cleveland?

Well, OHSAA won't let them play this league in the spring, so they couldn't then play in the fall. Plus, OHSAA doesn't allow NIL, either, currently. So, if they did play, they'd be giving up playing for their high school OR they'd only be eligible after their senior season when they should already have signed.

Many states do allow NIL now, but many do restrict organized football games outside the football season calendar for safety reasons. A few do allow a spring game, and most allow 7-on-7 since it's not considered football.

Secondly, a very key point in the release is that the league won't cover their insurance. Good luck with that. But they don't seem to be worried about TV (at the beginning), and there's not going to be a market for attendance.

Basically taking the worst aspects of high school football and making it a quasi-professional looking league. This is doomed to fail. But I'm sure it will sucker enough people in to make money for the founder before it falls apart.

Basically this is TSL but for high schoolers looking to get into a college program.

Never mind that juco, D-III and other much more highly developed lower levels already exist at the college game.

Heh, in a way that was kind of a raw deal. Not that the aptly chopped BS was on the up and up, but pretty much everyone knew they were gonna get bludgeoned by IMG. Hell West Toronto was at the half, where's the investigation there? What if the IMG/Mater Dei showdown from a few years back had been a blowout?

Hell we should have got to see them against a non-elite team before deciding who wasn't what. There were ways to find them out, but a pretty universally expected blowout loss to IMG wasn't one of them.

And Shroff's a "professional" announcer (he somehow got the Panthers gig) he can go to Barfstool Sports--speaking of BS, the embarrassment that was the Arizona Bowl last year would seem to be up his alley

Not sure yet. Likely sponsorships. It's what Brady's agent Don Yee was looking to do pre-NIL (PacPro FB) which morphed into HUB.

I do think it the absence of either XFL or USFL there is a gap, but before that I don't know.

What I do know is that B Woods was going to jump back in sooner or later. He's a master at low budget leagues, and I mean (much) lower than USFL/XFL. He's target will be to feed the second tier leagues. Can he be successful? Who knows. Sponsorships? a small TV deal? Who knows.
This could morph or die on the vine.

One thing is sure... all the news reports mention USFL, free publicity for the league.

Honestly kind of confusing. It’s a smart idea in terms of gimmicks but is this a situation like LaVar Ball’s JBA that had HS players basically become ineligible to play in the NCAA following and nuke their careers for a quick pay check?

No one is watching this and is following local hs talent outside of die hards and maybe Texans. The idea of individual cities is kind of dumb, the best way is more or less a hub system that can fill in the spot after XFL or USFL fails but right now football is basically year round
