AAF allegedly tried to sell to XFL before folding

Post by Andibald »

It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!

Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season :?

thats nice and all, but again as I have stated in previous posts, it sucks that the acquiring of certain assets does not include some of the franchises themselves or at the very least names and logos for future use. I would think someone at the XFL would have taken notice about how well the Apollos and the Commanders did and how popular they were, especially the commanders, with the attendance being what it was, and use that as a solid opportunity to cash in on a fanbase that's been established and was growing up until Tom DumDum ripped the carpet out from under everyone's feet.

Even if they wanted to move into San Antonio and Orlando for 2020, they would want a fresh brand so that they can sell fresh gear.

We know the video library, for lack of a better word, has at least some value as stock footage for commercials, movies, etc. Gary Cohen has made some nice coin on the USFL footage over the years, which appears in commercials to this day.
