Re: USFL coaches
Wow, I'm a Jeff Fisher believer. His teams weren't flashy, but they controlled games and did a lot with what they had. It was frustrating to see the Oilers leave before he could establish himself, and then become a routine division winner when the Texans were stuck in the same division as the Titans...

Re: Alex Rodriguez talked about to be the generals team owner and roster/draft news
Well, an owner-oriented league, even if they're only paper owners, is going to look different than a single-entity league. One of my problems with USFL II as presented is the recycling not only of old team cities and names, but colors and logos. Except the Birmingham Stallions helmet that someone go...

Re: Alex Rodriguez talked about to be the generals team owner and roster/draft news
I kind of expected some ex-NFL guys to be in the running as team owners too.
But didn't expect this talk this soon.

Les Miles to New Orleans?
I mean, sure, he failed in his responsibilities as a college coach, but pro players are adults and New Orleans doesn't care.

Re: USFL signs Gene Chizik after all ? Stallions?
That's as big a hire as Stoops to the Dallas Renegades, which everyone was talking about before the 2020 season. I hope it goes better on the field. I know it would be stupid to try to lure Cam Newton in at this point in his career. He's washed up, but expensive in his own mind. But my God, imagine ...

Re: Official USFL coaches
I'm pretty happy with this group. Fewer TSL people than I thought, and I thought TSL had a pretty good group. Sumlin is going to get more attention in Houston than the other surprisingly large # of suspects who have Houston connections (Glanville, Gilbride, Jones). Those guys will find other jobs in...

Re: USFL news
If you're going to spend a year in a hub city, for goodness' sake at least create a draft pool loaded with players well-known in the cities they claim to represent. Especially for Birmingham, New Orleans, Houston, Tampa Bay and Michigan where there's lots of college football fans. I've wanted for so...

Re: XFL Houston
I don't think the Renegades paid for any of the reconstruction of Globe Life Park. But the Rangers organization which paid for it needed a high-profile tenant quickly to publicize the facility, and supposedly gave the XFL a good deal on rent.
Of course, that need for publicity may now be past.

Re: Mike Mitchell on Markcast
I think the SFL coaches SHOULD be retained because there's little time and the SFL had 8 coaching staffs in place. It had good head coaches, some of whom were known, and all of whom were obviously ready to work in a league where they would face 100% player turnover each new season. If you can grab t...

Re: Brian woods talk for scouts/ plans for the USFL
The USFL will grow to become a contender for players who enter the transfer portal and others who are at least three years removed from high school graduation. The USFL will not be the place for six- and seven-year veterans looking to cash a few last checks before cycling out of pro football. So en...
