Re: XFL should hire Johnny Manziel

"Need," is subjective, but let's not forget the XFL has some pretty big stadiums that they need to fill. Given the likelihood of who they could/would sign, he'd likely start the season as probably the player with the biggest name value in the league (though admittedly a lot of it not positive.) Obvi...

Re: Has anyone decided on their favorite team?

I moved from the NY area to Atlanta this year so devoid a local team (Tampa Bay would be closest by distance, but still fairly far, and there's not really a collaborative spirit between GA and FL) I'm sort of looking forward to being a "free agent." I'm likely to determine my favorite largely based ...

Re: Could Josh Johnson be XFL bound after turning down an NFL job with The Ravens

I think it's entirely possible he ends up an XFL Tier 1 QB, but I'm not sure that was his main factor in deciding to turn down the Ravens. Realistically he was a short term camp arm until RG3 heals, and his shot to make the roster was slim to none. At 33 he's probably past the point where that kind ...

QB’s Connor Cook, Luis Perez and Zach Mettenberger. Let’s see if the names listed all work out. The WR position has some recognizable names. Con...

Re: XFL to have tier-one quarterbacks allocated and not a part of the draft process?

No need to overthink it. The league uses their top salary to lure quarterbacks to sign on. The league allows the quarterbacks, the freedom to negotiate and choose which team, they want to play for. It's the only aspect that should be free agency driven in the league. The other 700 players go into t...

Re: XFL to have tier-one quarterbacks allocated and not a part of the draft process?

I think the issue with that is that I'd imagine for the QB's especially their interest in the league may be elastic on what contract tier they're at. So if you're a younger QB, whether to take the money from the XFL or just stay ready as a FA in case of the inevitable injury becomes more of a person...

Re: XFL Summer Showcase Contract Candidates

Hey Mike, Thanks for the insight. Yeah I wasn't suggesting that every AAF player would receive an invite or play in the XFL - some are in NFL training camps, playing in Canada or other leagues, etc. Some of them just quite frankly didn't rise to the opportunity that league presented to them. I guess...

Re: XFL Summer Showcase Contract Candidates

Given the amount of AAF guys at the showcase (many of whom were starters), I'm curious to know what the criteria is to be an AAF guy that Luck and the XFL has enough tape on, so to speak. Guys like Will Hill, Johnathon Massaquoi, Jhurrell Pressley, Reggie Northrop all started I believe all 8 of thei...

Re: The XFL looking to eliminate the kneel down with new clock rule

Lots of interesting discussion in here so far (first time poster, btw.) Just a few thoughts of mine below; -If the play clock is reduced to 25 seconds, a 3 down kneeldown would only account for 1:15 of clock (give or take the few seconds of actually snapping the ball and taking the knee.) -Conceptua...
