Re: XFL players signing with NFL teams tracker
Not the NFL, but according to the transactions page of the National Arena League, LA Wildcats QB Jalan McClendon has signed with the Carolina Cobras: https://nationalarenaleague.com/transactions/ If NAL plays that's one of the better franchises, but this is a step down from TSL or AFL The last vers...

Re: CFL 2021(?) All aboot our friends up north
CFL needs to play in 2021 or I’m sure it’s over for the league. The Montreal Gazette just said the same thing. I haven't been paying super close attention, but I guess I'm sort of surprised it's that dire? I could see the Alouettes or the Argonauts going under, but these teams with dedicated stadiu...

Re: TSL Schedule and Televised Games
In this case, it at least looks like a plausible factor, but probably not the only one.
But seriously, how many people can run a pro-caliber league, with no salaries to pay, and still not be financially viable?

Re: GP: The Spring League filling gap left behind by the XFL
I agree that TSL isn't filling a meaningful need for the NFL. If the NFL wants to pay money to keep sub-practice squad level players in game shape, they can just expand their practice squads. I also don't think the broadcast content is any more valuable than reruns of "A Football Life" or whatever ...

Re: FCF - Fan Controlled Football League
The number of different platforms available to show games has certainly made it easier to enter the marketplace, even on a smaller level in terms of number of teams, games played, etc. Keep # of teams and games (and probably players) down, costs stay down. And the fewer teams and games you play, th...

I figured, looking at the rosters alone, that the Generals had to be heavy favorites in this one.

Re: The future of sports TV rights fees, and how it could affect the XFL
The XFL had the benefit of good ratings. Better than the NHL's (which NBC paid hundreds of millions per year) and competitive with the NBA (which gets billions). The fact is that any first-year league is going to have doubts as to whether it can draw an audience. The networks prefer something proven...

The Supplemental Draft might be worth exploring in the case of such prospects.
