Re: NFL cuts USFL prospects?

Yes, I agree that Cam Newton won’t play in the USFL. I was just trying to list the availabile veterans currently available. I would seriously doubt RGIII would play as well. I figured someone would point out that I left them off the list so I decided to include them. As far as anyone else, who knows...

Re: NFL cuts USFL prospects?

Not a complete list but this is who I have come up with. Mostly practice squad qbs with maybe some NFL game experience from the last couple years, who is currently available. No particular order. Jake Dolegala, David Fales, Alex McGough, Chad Kelly, Clayton Thorson, Tyler Bray, Danny Etling, Anthony...

Re: NFL cuts USFL prospects?

So let’s pretend that the USFL only has the money to pay certain players up front or a signing bonus, as mentioned above, who would you pay? Not saying this will happen but I’m curious who, now that some of the smoke has settled from the first cut/resign to practice squad is over. I was never more i...

Re: XFL News lacking, Interest waning ?

The USFL looks obvious to go right now except for one thing (and it's not minor): Nothing since the June 3 announcement. It's on FOX, wow, so is Masked Singer and all its spinoffs, if only putting together a league were that simple. Now the XFL has another problem: The constant Rock vs Roman Reigns...

Re: XFL News lacking, Interest waning ?

I think when the league pushed the return date back to 2023, it sucked the remaining interest out of a lot of the fans that were still casually checking in. I can’t blame anyone for giving up hope they will ever return. I said in an earlier post that it appears XFL 3.0 has no interest in keeping the...

Re: Interesting XFL-related notes in Tyree Jackson story

It’s quite possible that Cardale was handed a fair amount more money than we realize. He was coming off of a fairly impressive preseason with the Chargers and had been with the Seahawks not long before he was named to the Defenders. I don’t think many of the original 8 named qbs had been in an NFL c...

Re: Interesting XFL-related notes in Tyree Jackson story

I would venture to say that Jones wasn’t alone in being an XFL qb that received extra compensation for under performing on the field.

Re: Ex-XFL, NFL, UFL - Josh Johnson signs with Jets

My first post on this board was in response to someone’s question about which player would you like to see play in the XFL 2022. I responded with Josh Johnson. He and PJ Walker jumped off the screen to me, as qbs who were ahead of the rest. Those two could carry their teams. Spring football needs go...

Re: Hal Mumme interview on the_markcast

Absolutely right about the allure of coaching spring football. To say that coaching in the NFL and even college is a grind and hard on anyone’s family life is an understatement. I remember hearing Joe Gibbs talk about spending the night at his office a lot and that was back in the 80’s. Yeah, there ...
