I hate to see the Vipers leave Tampa, but you have to figure they will go up I-4 to Orlando right?
Wasn't there some speculation that The Rock might push for a team in Miami?

Re: QB targets for XFL 3.0

I'll have to comb through the D1 football rosters a bit because I imagine there's going to be a lot of fringe prospects that go underscouted due to the cancelled college season. I'm sure some will return to school in 2021 but those who try to go pro and fail to make an NFL roster will have a lot to ...

Re: College Football Season

Well, they might play in the spring.

XFL is probably better off aiming for a 2022 season. Either the pandemic improves and they have to contend with college football or there's no significant improvement and staging a season becomes even more difficult.

Re: College Football Season

Big Ten season looks DOA.

I guess it doesn't hurt to explore a spring season but it really just seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Re: What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

I'll add the disclaimer I'm not entirely certain how this would/could be implemented, but I feel like they need some sort of plan or salary construct to make player retention easier. It's going to be very hard to get mass adoption to the league if fan favorites get established just to have a mass e...

College Football Season

Not looking good... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29629669/power-5-talking-no-fall-football I'm still skeptical how a spring season would work. Surely tons of NFL prospects would sit out the season. I wonder how this would impact other sports. I could see schools scraping their en...

Re: What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

Tough to critique the OT rules without ever seeing them in practice but I liked the idea Luck initially floated when a turnover counted as a point for the defense. Think they ended up scraping that.

What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

This can be anything from rule changes, broadcasting, relocation, expansion, etc. Here's my top 3: 1. Increase base pay for players. Even if they have to slightly reduce roster sizes (I'm thinking go from 45/52 to 44/50) and QB salaries (5-10%). AJ Tarpley addressed this in a recent reddit AMA and w...

The Wildcats had a mascot, "Rowdy." https://www.google.com/search?q=rowdy+kat+la+wildcats&client=firefox-b-lg&sxsrf=ALeKk00UsBRdsg3XDa3xYOyohegK_uK72w:1596701004080&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiH1KPhjobrAhVHJzQIHQJKCHcQ_AUICCgD&biw=360&bih=588#imgrc=LzsWL3NH-7Cw4M Cheerleaders I don't reall...

Re: RedBird Capital, Dany Garcia, and The Rock to buy XFL for $15M

The logistics of a bubble season seem pretty daunting. You're talking about housing roughly 400 players, plus other team personnel for a 2-3 month season. Yes the NHL and NBA are doing it but: 1. They have a lot more capital than the XFL to pull it off, not to mention an established target TV audien...
