Re: Any word on what the championship game will be called?
Part of me wants it named after McMahon because it’s his vision, and more importantly money that is paying for all of this to exist. He created a league everyone mocks him for and is paying close to a thousand employees. None of this is possible if not for McMahon taking the risk. I get that, but w...

Easy Leo. Lighten up.
Anyone that posts XFL happenings consistently is doing a good job.
I will state though that the league is very Patriots like when it comes to releasing info. Transparency is always a good thing.

Re: Anthony Johnson Traded to Defenders
It’s great that LA got something of value in return for Johnson. The Wildcats also addressed a position of need at corner.
This is not the first time that a player in the XFL has dictated where they wanted to go or engineered an exit to their liking.

Re: One week from right now
It still doesn't feel real to me. Maybe once we get past the Super Bowl. I have been thinking about this all day. As a pessimist, who went through the USFL, WLAF/NFL Europe, XFL, UFL, and AAF. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. The XFL returning is the most unlikely comeback/reboot that I c...

Re: Great article on the TV innovations for XFL games
It will be busy in the editing room. Integrating live audio is a pain, even with a short time delay, due to the offensive nature in which people tend to talk when pushing themselves to perform their best. High tension moments could lead to some fines. I'm sure the audio feeds will be minimal due to...

Re: Great article on the TV innovations for XFL games
I am not a gambler myself but I like the approach of putting the point spreads and over/unders into the actual broadcast on screen. The announcers will probably talk about it too during games. I can just picture people frantically adjusting their bets while watching the broadcast, laptop at their s...

Re: Four things we need to happen when the XFL returns
Excellent post. There’s not much to add to what you just stated. I wrote about this exact same thing nineteen years ago on this site. The media bias. It’s not like the original XFL didn’t earn it but it was easier to bury or ignore the league in 2001, for all the reasons you stated. While talking a...

Re: Four things we need to happen when the XFL returns
I personally enjoyed the original XFL, but I was a late teen at the time, so it was probably more in my wheelhouse than "real" football fans. The one thing I thought was really interesting about the ESPN XFL special was how they glossed over the fact that they played a major role in it's failure. R...

Re: Prediction: XFL will be rebranded
I did not know that... that's an interesting wrinkle. I wonder if Ebersol's pitch to buy the XFL brand forced Vince's hand. We might be dealing with a UFL revival instead of the XFL! Most people gloss over stuff or just ignore it. I wrote about this in several articles in the last two years. Before...
