Re: RedBird Capital, Dany Garcia, and The Rock to buy XFL for $15M
The MAC just became the first FBS conference to pack up and move to spring, now speculation that the Big Ten could follow as reportedly Kevin Warren backs the move. ABC and FOX both becoming "Big Ten Saturday" would pretty much do it for the XFL as far as being on Saturdays. There is Turner, which ...

Re: RedBird Capital and the Rock to buy XFL for $15M
This is good news. Don’t know what to expect exactly. Hopefully, mostly everything stays the same. For 2021, I’d assume it to be a “soft” relaunch. A made for tv season. Hopefully, a small amount of fans would be allowed in to still give it more of a real feel. I’m excited, but the only thing that w...

Re: XFL Bankruptcy Thread
There's another opportunity here: The politicizing of sports is likely a major turnoff for fans... XFL can avoid this and prosper while other leagues suffer. Stick to the "for the love of Football" mantra and just have fun and play the game. These players don't have the pull or career desire other ...

Re: Fans will be back in the stands
The virus won’t be an issue anymore until we build herd immunity by vaccine or by massive infections. A vaccine may never come. In NYC, the numbers continue to decline despite people being out and about there. I suspect it’s because they’ve had such a high infection rate that the virus is running ou...

Re: Fans will be back in the stands
It will be 2022 before fans return to the stands. I’m going to an independent league baseball game on July 19th in Rosemont, IL(Chicago). They are allowing about 1,500 fans per game. The Cubs and White Sox are planning to allow 20% capacity(8,000 fans) per game. Both are going to be a disaster. MLB...

Re: Fans will be back in the stands
Nobody cares about Covid-19 anymore. The protests are proof of that. Well, Fauci and a few germaphobic epidemiologists still care, that much is certain. But the vast majority of people who were pushing this in April and early May have moved on—including Andrew Cuomo (and New York is well on its way...

Re: Disney/Fox inquired about XFL
the way things are falling a part in this country, it's best that the XFL not return. Yeah, I live 20 miles west of Chicago. The city is being destroyed. I’ve been listening to the police radio all night. It’s ridiculous. On the plus side, clearly these large mass gatherings of people suggest that ...

Re: Disney/Fox inquired about XFL
Well, FOX would be the entity that would be best to buy and support the league in my opinion. I hope Vince would at least consider holding onto a minority stake in the XFL even if it’s just 5%. Just so he could at the minimum be a part of its success down the road.

Re: Sports Business Journal review of XFL's final days
Weren’t the Vipers getting that stadium rent free? If Tampa Bay were to extend that offer, would they really move? I do agree Orlando is a better city though. And Dallas did have a respectable fan base, so I don’t know how wise it would me to move the team. I do support moving the Wildcats to SD, bu...
