Re: Spring 2021 FCS: Scouting for the next Donald Parham

Remember San Diego had that 40 game PFL streak snapped in April? Then they got possibly knocked out of an at-large spot by Valpo. The 2021 season hasn't started off too well, as they've lost two at home to start the year--the latter a 53-7 annihilation by Cal Davis, the fourth BSC team in the top 15...

Re: Spring 2021 FCS: Scouting for the next Donald Parham

The top three conferences in FCS are easily the Big Sky, Missouri Valley, and the Colonial with eight of the top ten. Only Sam Houston and Jacksonville State are the stragglers. With JSU's unbelievable win over FSU, that makes four wins over FBS--and two P5s The BSC's first big showdown comes in two...

Re: XFL players in NFL 2021

Also congrats to the XFL alum who won the United Bowl as Garrett Hartley, the former Dragon (who never kicked) who signed with Massachusetts in mid-playoffs, hit the game-winner in OT to beat the Rattlers (and his replacement, Ernesto Lacayo). Toby Johnson nicked his hamstring in the OT but I'm sure...

Re: NFL cuts USFL prospects?

And the Newton speculation has begun. Remember the only other QB (Kyle Allen) spent most of 2020 on IR so it's not like they have a proven durable backup. Oddly enough Josh Johnson could be an option to return as an alternative

Kiss the Sky

Big Sky finishes a strong weekend with Cal Poly going in and upsetting San Diego and topped off by Montana over Washington. Even the two home losses weren't embarrassing (one to defending champ SHSU, the other to top-ten ranked UND) so this has to easily be the greatest top-to-bottom weekend in BSC ...

Re: This isn't good

FOX was at it again last night with more graphics goodness (goofness) OSU gets a long TD on a screen from C.J. Stroud to TreVeyon Henderson, they gave it to Miyan Williams--who had an earlier 72-yard rumble. But the real highlight was that for the length of a commercial break, it was a ten-point sc...

Re: This isn't good

True that, but if FOX continues to be 'GaffeKings' it's gonna be another one if all the sudden they can't draw a million viewers because the graphics are killing everybody One million viewers or less (especially in the traditional alt league graveyard) vs six and all the sudden I'm far from the only...

FCS report

Sam Houston rolls in their opener, but a good night for the Sky nonetheless with two wins over FBS teams--Cal Davis over Tulsa, EWU over UNLV in 2OT Tough night for Seth Harrison as he misses three field goals--including a game-winner with three seconds left, but quite frankly UNLV receivers dropped...

Re: P.J. Walker

I’ll have a column later this week looking at what former XFL players stuck on rosters and practice squads once those are announced. Strangely, it could be more than last year at this time. Can you look at TSL as well? No. I'll leave that to someone with more investment in the TSL product and more ...
