That's a great trivia question. Active or ever? Off the top of my head, Gus Frerotte had seven -- Redskins, Vikings, Broncos, Lions, Dolphins, Bengals, Rams.
Testaverde has to be up there, right? Bucs, Browns, Jets, Ravens, Cowboys - I think he might have started for Carolina as well.

Re: College Football Season

At this point I tend to think 2022 is the best option. At present all XFL has is the team names/branding, a few executives, and the rule book. That leaves seven months for hires of all team specific personnel, coaching staffs, hundreds of players and determining how to allocate them, venue contracts...

Re: What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

Well the transfer thing with UFL was really a last gasp to get some cash coming in the door. I’d really hope new ownership wouldn’t do something so disreputable which would also put their ability to sign future players at risk. I’m not advocating paying what it would take to get a top flight draftab...

Re: What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

Prior to the season Luck mentioned some sort of bonus system for returning players (I believe the longer the tenure the greater the bonus) but never heard any mention of it once the season got started and haven't found any specifics on it beyond Luck's fleeting reference to it. That sounds familiar...

Re: What changes do you hope new ownership brings?

I'll add the disclaimer I'm not entirely certain how this would/could be implemented, but I feel like they need some sort of plan or salary construct to make player retention easier. It's going to be very hard to get mass adoption to the league if fan favorites get established just to have a mass ex...

Re: RedBird Capital, Dany Garcia, and The Rock to buy XFL for $15M

Winston Moss is the second head coach that I'm aware of (after June Jones) to publicly say they'd be interested in returning as coach to the XFL: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/08/04/winston-moss-makes-pitch-to-stay-with-xfl/ I don't know enough about bankruptcies (or at least this bank...

Re: RedBird Capital, Dany Garcia, and The Rock to buy XFL for $15M

Spoke w/ Dany Garcia, one of three investors buying the XFL. Plan is to play in 2021, she said, possibly in a bubble. Garcia will hold an executive role with the league. Asked about other leadership, she noted "excellent" people who are or were in place for XFL 2.0. - Kevin Seifert https://twitter....

Re: RedBird Capital and the Rock to buy XFL for $15M

Early returns on the NHL and NBA bubbles are positive thus far. MLB, the non-bubble organization, is having difficulty. If the plan for the XFL is a bubble in Houston or wherever in 2021, that may be the best bet (keeping in mind things can and will change between now and then). Sure, but a bubble ...

Re: RedBird Capital and the Rock to buy XFL for $15M

I doubt that there will be a 2021 season, 2022 seems likely. As much as I'd like to see it next year, I tend to agree. Aside from just putting together all the infrastructure at a local level for all the teams (assuming they are all coming back to the same place and not relocating), the current env...

Re: Sportico: RedBird Capital and the Rock buy XFL for $15M

Turns out this happened because The Rock’s was the only bid. Does that mean if the Rock's group hadn't put in a qualified bid, no one was going to buy it? Or if there hadn't been a qualified bid, it would have gone to the auction and the 20 or whatever bidders would/could have bid live? From what I...
