One thing I have not heard a word about, but that likely will be quite relevant at the end of the USFL season, is the necessity for tiebreaker(s) to determine the 4 playoff teams. It's a good change. When I first read the rule differences before the season started, it surprised me that they wouldn't allow a change of option upon the calling of a time-out, or the commission of a defensive foul. Good for Pereira to make the change... Btw, do rule changes have to be approved by...

Female Officials

A long while back, I reffed some junior high football and flag football. There were no female officials in either of our associations. Looks like the USFL is moving to make them a permanent fixture in their ranks; the NFL is going to promote a few of them to their roster as well. Not a bad thing... ...

Good to hear that the XFL will be releasing its rulebook with plenty of time to study it. I've called football, and love the rulebook. And Bob Stoops... he's the man...
