Re: The Rock on Expansion

I too find expansion to Hawaii unlikely barring, as Mark said, some mystery investor (which selling franchises I would imagine is YEARS down the road). I saw Rock’s appearance and placement of the Showcase in Hawaii as simply a nod to his own football background, which is a big reason he’s involved ...

Re: Xfl footballs possibly shown at showcases

If you believe this league doesn’t even have something as major as teams and cities squared away yet, it seems highly unlikely they’d already have something as minor as the design of the ball already figured out. Plus we never even got an announcement on what company is supplying the balls. And with...

Re: XFL Hires Directors of Team Operations

McMillen also worked with Stoops in Dallas in XFL 2020. He's been a longtime ally of Stoops going back to their days at Oklahoma. His official title in 2020 was Director of Football Operations, so it sounds like same idea, slightly different title.

Re: NFLA Academy to #AllUSFL

In practical terms what does that mean? My reading of it is at the end of the NFL season, those in the NFL Alumni Academy at the time have an automatic offer to join the XFL. Some may decline and hope to sign a futures contract with an NFL team in the winter; others may choose to take the XFL up on...

Re: NFLA Academy to #AllUSFL

But the point is the XFL 'agreement' is likely no different. 1. I don't know why you say things like "XFL said they signed an agreement," then calling it an "agreement" in quotation marks as if you're casting doubt on whether one even exists. I mean, they sent out a press releas...

Re: Updated info on XFL player acquisition

Honestly, that’s not within the scope of his job, so he may just be confused on the exact numbers. He’s probably directionally correct in that they set modest goals and were modestly exceeding them through five weeks. That would be my guess. He certainly didn't have the numbers right in front of hi...

Re: Updated info on XFL player acquisition

The entire interview with Whaley is on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/l8kaMxnUbtE Among other highlights: -Whaley said internal expectations for the league in 2020 was 10,000 fans per game; they were at 12,500 through five weeks. TV viewership expectations were 750,000 and he said they were at 900,0...

Re: NFLA Academy to #AllUSFL

XFL said they signed agreement - but the NFL-A will work with anyone There’s nothing that says the USFL and NFL-A are working together. Players who were once a part of the NFL-A signed with the USFL. That’s it. That’s like saying a college that congratulates a player on Twitter for being drafted by...

Re: NFLA Academy to #AllUSFL

Hmm... seems like NFL Alumni Academy is working with USFL Working with? I see a Tweet congratulating past NFL Alumni Academy trainees for making the All-USFL team. Am I missing something?
