Re: BUFFALO BILLS possible move - Austin #1 target

Back to the Bills - I don't want the Bills to move but this could play into USFL/XFL decisions on team locations - the lease ends in what a year? This may be a rhetorical question, but their lease ends in 2023. I'm not sure if that means at the very beginning of that year, or if it's after the 2023...

Re: BUFFALO BILLS possible move - Austin #1 target

Feel like we're getting the cart way, WAY ahead of the horse here. The Pegulas' statement seems more like an opening salvo in negotiations than anything else. I'm from the Western New York area and know how much the Bills mean to WNY and Buffalo...the city isn't just going to let the Bills walk. To ...

Re: G. Parks interview on The_Markcast

The one thing I was never clear about in regards to "international" was, were they referring to international cities with teams or international players in terms of talent. One can only assume they were referring to teams in other countries, at least Mexico and Canada; not much else would...

Re: G. Parks interview on The_Markcast

Thanks for the plug. Only wish we had something more substantial to talk about. On the CFL/XFL talks, I wish I had mentioned the XFL’s desire to go international. It wasn’t something heavily discussed by fans/analysts while talks were ongoing, but with the XFL’s statement after talks ended combined ...

Re: Mitchell: XFL looking at Mexico, potentially Canada, for 2023 franchises

Two other interesting pieces of note from Mike in this interview: One, the XFL had already planned to move the kickoff back to 2023, with our without the CFL talks. That makes me feel a little better that an entire season hadn't been wasted diddling around with the CFL. Of course, I'm also curious a...

Re: CFL Argo's could leave CFL for US based league

As I noted in the thread where this was initially brought up, there are some major issues that would need to be resolved: -In going to the XFL, the Argos would be going to a centrally-owned league. Would the XFL be looking to sell of individual franchises to other owners, so MLSE keeps the Argos? Or...

Mitchell: XFL looking at Mexico, potentially Canada, for 2023 franchises

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYidS76VkZA Mike Mitchell was on the latest XFL MarkCast to talk about the disintegration of the CFL/XFL talks. The big news he dropped was that in the XFL's efforts to become international in nature, they're looking heavily at putting a team in Mexico for the 2023 se...

Re: CFL - Edmonton: Pleased XFL Talks Have Ended

A full merger was always going to be difficult simply because CFL teams are privately-owned, while the XFL owns all of its teams. It's two completely different ownership structures. I'm not sure how that would work with Toronto potentially bolting for the XFL, unless the new XFL owners sell off the ...

Re: XFL officially delays start until 2023

We read on XFLNewsHub: >> “ The XFL had a number of holes in what they were necessarily offering , and all the CFL went through this process. They realized just how much they were bringing to the table. And if they were going to give up some of its game and its traditions, they needed to make sure ...

Re: CFL: No formal arrangement with XFL at this time

A couple of stray thoughts on the matter... -As someone unfamiliar with the CFL and those who cover it, I was not impressed with the Canadian sports coverage of this story. Granted, it's tough when nothing leaks, but I think those who cover the CFL speculated (or "reported") just about eve...
