ORLANDO, Fla. (February 9, 2001) – Brian Roberson, the San Francisco Demons’ leading receiver in their season opener last Sunday, was placed on the practice roster Friday and will not be available tonight when the Demons continue the XFL season at Orlando.

Roberson damaged his right foot in practice last week and the injury did not respond to treatment as rapidly as had been hoped. Calvin Schexnayder, who caught a 32-yard touchdown pass last week against Los Angeles in San Francisco’s 15-13 triumph, will start in Roberson’s flanker position and Tydus Winans was activated as the Demons’ fourth receiver for the 5:00 p.m. PST contest with the Rage.

The Demons’ radio broadcast begins at 4:00 p.m. on 92 KSJO with the pre-game show and the game itself will be carried by KABL-FM (960), beginning at 5:00 o’clock. Roxy Bernstein and Merton Hanks are the announcers for the broadcast.

Roberson finished the first-ever XFL game in San Francisco with 12 catches for 127 yards and had three catches for 41 yards on the Demons’ final drive to a winning field goal in the game’s final 3 minutes 55 seconds. Schexnayder had only joined San Francisco three days before the season opener, but finished with four catches for 59 yards against Los Angeles.

In another roster adjustment, the Demons also placed offensive tackle Josh Kobdish on the practice roster with a right knee injury. Harvey Goins was activated in Kobdish’s place as San Francisco’s seven offensive lineman.

Tickets are still available for San Francisco’s final four games and the Demons are selling a four-game ticket package. Tickets can be reserved at 1-866-4-XFL-TIX or at www.sfdemons.com.
