Week 1 ... The Fans Have Spoken!

In the past 36 hours XFLboard.com has received slightly over 6,000 votes for XFL Players of the Week. The votes have been tabulated and here are the results:

John Avery

John Avery had 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns but still the Orlando Rage squirmed past Chicago 33-29 Saturday at the Citrus Bowl. Avery dashed to a 64-yard touchdown run and also reeled in a 68-yard scoring strike from quarterback Tim Lester. Avery also caught three passes from Lester for a total of 94 yards on the night.

"John Avery best described what the XFL is all about after injuring his forearm. He had it looked at by a trainer to determine if it was broken. The trainer told him "I think it's just bruised a little". Avery replied "Oh that's it", hopped up and went right back in the game. Now that's Football!"
