Chicago – (20 March 2001) — Once again, the Chicago Enforcers take control at Soldier Field. The offense looked superb featuring the dominant John Avery-LeShon Johnson connection. And the Chicago “D” roughed up…let me repeat that…the Chicago defense roughed up one of the best quarterbacks in the XFL, Mike Pawlawski.

After being sacked twice in key situations, throwing for just 133 yards and tossing two interceptions (one of which capped off the Enforcers second victory), Pawlawski walked off the field with his team now 3-4, after losing 25-19 to the now surging Chicago Enforcers.

This victory keeps the Enforcers in prime play-off position and can very possibly finish the season winning five of the last six games.

Although I would much rather see them beat each team while the opponents are at their best, I like the opportunities that face us in the upcoming weeks. Take a look at the Enforcers remaining schedule against division rivals… some of whom recently lost their starting quarterback.

March 24 vs. Birmingham (without Casey Weldon)
March 31 at New York/New Jersey (This time Avery will play!!!)
April 8 vs. Orlando (without Jeff Brohm)

The Enforcers are still just one game out of second place with two out of three games at home and a critical game against the second-place Hitmen in New York on March 31.

With three Chicago victories, the Enforcers still need a little help from one of their division rivals to defeat the Hitmen. After simply handing the victory over to Orlando and Birmingham early in the season, the time has come for the Rage and/or the Bolts to pay up.

Before I bring this to an end, let me take you back a few weeks to my “A Cinderella Story for Chicago?” article: “This could be the start of something huge in Chicago. The team that starts out the season 0-4 makes the playoffs?

It is very possible. Remember the top two teams in each division make the playoffs. The Enforcers are only one game out of second place and with the final three games of the year against our division rivals, anything is possible.

I’m calling it out…mark your calendars…March 5, 2001 by ChiEnforcers1, Chicago Enforcers Team Reporter…my XFL friends, this is the start of the comeback of the inaugural year!”

You see where I’m going with this?

…All the way to the play-offs with the Enforcers!
