With 44 days until the regular season kicks off, two longstanding major hurdles the XFL needed to clear prior to its new season beginning in earnest were eliminated today. The league announced Cashman Field as the location for Vegas Vipers home games, and also released a complete game-by-game regular season television schedule.

With Allegiant Stadium apparently out of the picture, Cashman Field became the most likely venue for the Vipers. However, negotiations dragged on and other locations in and around the city were apparently considered.

KLAS-TV out of Las Vegas was the first to report the news late last night. The report states the XFL is aiming for 8,000 fans for the stadium, which holds a capacity for baseball at around 10,000. It will be the smallest stadium the league will use in 2023.

The stadium hold-up in Vegas is likely what led to the schedule being kept under wraps for so long. In conjunction with television partner ESPN, the league announced the full slate of games today. All 43 games will be broadcast on either network or cable TV, while also simulcast on ESPN’s streaming service, ESPN+.

With the schedule now out, individual game tickets will go on sale January 12. However, Vegas is not yet taking season ticket orders and the ability to purchase individual game tickets for their games will be delayed beyond the 12th as well.

The league will now move forward with training camp as the next major event. Team staff and coaches have already begun to gather in Arlington, with players expected to report beginning tomorrow.
