The CFL's multi-year contracts are binding. I'd be surprised if all the Arena players aren't free to leave.
It’s a good point. The contracts and free agency are interesting in the CFL. Even though their season ends in the winter. CFL free agency starts right after the XFL season begins. This past year, it was February 12th.

The original XFL was signing CFL players during their season. Like Jimmy Cunningham for example.

I am not sure if the CFL’s new CBA addresses the NFL window clause. Back in 2018, the CFL loosened the reigns a bit on their strict 2 year contract by allowing players in the final year of their deal to pursue NFL opportunities. I don’t think that they would make the same accommodation for players looking to play pro football in the states with the XFL.

I don’t think that those Indoor football players are bound to long term contracts and probably have very little if any restrictions on their ability to play in other leagues.

I'd like to see all the kickers and punters who weren't listed. There were a lot of good AAF kickers and punters that don't currently have NFL jobs.
12 Long snappers listed. Only a handful of kickers. I am pretty sure that Memphis Express kicker Josh Jasper received an invite. Not sure what workout he attended. I am going to have do some digging on this one. That’s how I found out about Hernandez and a few others who worked out in Tampa but weren’t on the roster list.
Added another kicker to the list: Boise State's Tyler Rausa, who attended the Dallas Showcase.

I would imagine that every major AAF player from the showcases will make the cut and be signed. They have proven themselves to be good in a league with a slightly worse (probably) talent level than the XFL, plus they have recent experience. If this happens, then about 70 of the ~300 spots for showcase players to be signed are probably full. Some other guys I'd be on the lookout for are FIU's Anthony Johnson, EMU's Brogan Roback, and Mizzou's Kony Ealy and maybe Marcell Frazier.

I wonder how many of the players that worked out for the XFL are undrafted players from the 2019 NFL draft class. I counted 13 undrafted quarterbacks in total. Tanner Mangum (BYU), Vincent Testaverde (Albany), Brad Mayes (Lehigh), Keller Chryst (Stanford), Taylor Cornelius (Oklahoma State), Marcus McCaryion (Fresno State), CJ Collins (CW Assembly), David Cornwell (East Central), Sam Castronova (Bethel), Taryn Christion (South Dakota St), Anthony Lawrence (San Diego), Ross Comis (UMass) and Foster Sawyer (TCU).

As I recall, Rausa was one of the very first players on social media, to make his invite public on social media. That's good to see that he did work out.

I have a couple more names for the spreadsheet. Both specialists worked out at Montclair State.

Punter Cameron Nizialek and Kicker Younghoe Koo. Both were with The Atlanta Legends last year in the AAF. Koo is in the record books for scoring the first ever points in AAF history.

Thanks Mike. I'll get them entered soon.

The Legends probably had the second or third best special teams in the AAF so this is a good sign.

I could be wrong but I think Koo was perfect on his kicks for the season in the AAF. He got a workout with the Bears. More NFL teams should consider non NFL kickers who produce in Canada or in the states. There’s not really a level of competition issue with kickers. Field goal kicking at a high percentage is impressive in any outdoor league.

On a side note. This is still in relation to Greg Parks work on the spreadsheet. I enjoyed his recent article on the Showcase players. It’s not intended to be a full breakdown of every single one of the nearly 900 players who worked out, but it’s a good primer on some of the players at each individual showcase.

Knowledge from the last five years of draft classes helps. Seems like Greg has quite a bit of it. It’s something that the XFL’s Scouting department relied heavily upon in this process.

The XFL may have found a real diamond in the rough in Wingate Edge Rusher Cardell Rawlings. Truth be told, he should be in an NFL camp. I am shocked that he isn’t. He’s coming off a dominant senior season (18 sacks) and had a great offseason. Rawlings killed it at the Dream Bowl early this year. Cardell Rawlings reminds me of Hugh Douglas. Undersized pass rusher who also dominated at a small school level (Central State).
