Re: XFL Bankruptcy Thread

What impact, if any, does the NFL ditching preseason in the last few have on what the restarted league looks like? On one hand you got between 160-320 players (assuming the overall numbers were between 5 and 10 UDFA signings per team on avg) with no reps. On the other, you already had a fair number ...

Re: XFL Bankruptcy Thread

(SWERVE) The NFL emerges as the winner, Dan Snyder renames the Redskins D.C. Defenders, and the team is moved to San Diego when/if then the NFL decides to do the NFL Europe thing again (END SWERVE) Now granted there's a better chance of Fight for the Fallen being advertised on RAW tonight than any o...

Re: XFL Bankruptcy Thread

https://www.si.com/college/tennessee/football/spring-cfb-season-increasing-likelihood Sounds like the Ivy League may announce as soon as Wednesday they'll be moving fall sports to the spring. If that happens, speculation is some of the larger conferences could follow suit. While this likely won't i...

Re: XFL Bankruptcy Thread

As I speculated in May and June, of course that depends when "spring" is. Problem is even a shortened season would overlap with the NCAA tournament/Final Four and while baseball/other spring sports lurk in the background they're hardly in the same universe as football. There's also no way they stret...

Re: So either ESPN is out.............

LA and New York held the league down, no one will argue that, but it's totally counterproductive to make that point when you work for the very corp that has dictated that there be teams in both (as ESPN did with the Arena League in the early years, ABC even went a step further with Chicago in the US...

Re: So either ESPN is out.............

I didn't say outright hit piece I said semi-hit piece, when you start rattling off the normal regurgitated garbage about ratings and attendance and basically, like Peter King a month or so back, dismissed COVID what would you call it? And if his problem was with keeping teams in New York and LA mayb...

So either ESPN is out.............

https://www.espn.com/xfl/story/_/id/29297846 Or Kevin Seifert is out of a job (there have been more layoffs at ESPN the last two years than in WWE). Seriously, why effectively republish what amounts to a two-month old article/semi-hit piece if you're among the rumored bidders? I guess the war's bac...

Pep won't be back for sure, he'll be coaching Tyrod Taylor/Justin Herbert/Easton Stick this year

If Easton doesn't, um, stick the new ownership's gotta find a way to get him just on name alone (also winningest QB in FCS history)

Re: Spurrier signals interest in coaching if XFL returns

This is all provided of course there's an America that they can come back to. A few weak mayors/governors are getting called out. The rads will be separated from legit people that are voicing their concerns. This did prove one thing wuhan virus hysteria over blown (at least for under 50's) . Market...

Re: Is Vince McMahon trying to covertly buy his own bankrupt XFL?

I hope Hayes wouldn't be like that, otherwise I might have to go back and push the possibility that Chris Warren (who was about as much of a punt returner as Earl Thomas is) called fair catch right before JH blew him up before the dramatic last series in the Derrick Thomas seven-sack game.
