XFL Houston to also name Team President

Post by MikeMitchell » Mon May 13, 2019 1:16 pm

The XFL will also name Houston attorney Brian Michael Cooper as president of the Houston franchise.

He’s a former president of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Houston Rockets affiliate in the G League, and has worked in the athletics department at Rice.

The XFL is expected to hold a new conference this week to officially announce the decisions concerning Jones and Cooper.

I thought we were getting no news this week. Glad to be wrong! Next up is the final 3 presidents and then team names!
Teams I'm Thinking About Rooting For:

1.Dallas
2.DC
3.Houston
4.LA
5.NY
6.Seattle
7.Tampa Bay
8.St. Louis

Nice! The Vipers are considered a model G-League team.

As I posted here on the board last week. Jeffrey Pollack did say in the LA press conference last week, that the league would be announcing a new team president hire this week.

I don’t know much about Brian Michael Cooper. He doesn’t seem to have the cache or resume of Erik Moses, Heather Karatz, Janet Duch or Ryan Gustafson. With Oliver’s strong business ties to Houston. I trust that Cooper is suited for the role. The Vipers are a very good franchise in the G League. So that doesn’t hurt.
