Great to see this moving forward. I still want to know ST. Louis so bad.

He’s not the coach that I would personally hire, and I doubt that he’s the choice but he does have experience being a head coach/GM, when he won two championships in The United Football League. He also does have NFL and New York coaching experience. Like I stated. He wouldn’t be my choice.

There are a lot of coaches with California connections out there. Fingers crossed on a Jack Del Rio or John Fox or Mike Shanahan. Don’t think that Spurrier would consider LA. Rick Neuheisel if he takes off his tin foil hat, could be a fit in that market. Perhaps a Jim Mora Jr. So many possibilities.

I think Houston and St. Louis are the only teams now without a Head Coach/GM or team president. Unsure at this point if Catherine Rache who is rumored to be leaving Toronto in the CFL, unsure if she will be named Team President in Tampa or if she will assume another role.

Anything but Martz is going to be a disappointment for the league and it’s followers. I think it’s a great job. Even if the league gets a quality coach. If it’s not Mike Martz at this point. It’s going to be a let down.

I have been invited out to NY for the conference by people who already know who the hires are but won’t tell me. Full disclosure, I am bummed because I will most likely not be able to make it.

Speculation?... There are quite a few coaches with NY ties like Rex Ryan. Greg Schiano was rumored by PFT, at one point to be joining the league before he took the Pats job and subsequently quit recently.

Then there’s Jim Haslett who has some Northeast ties. There’s coaches like Eric Mangini and Charlie Weiss. There’s two now former AAF coaches with northeast ties in Tim Lewis and Kevin Coyle.

Has someone outside of NY been convinced to take on the job? That’s within the realm of possibility as well.

Let’s see if this leaks before we even get to Tuesday.
