Has Tim Tebow’s chances of playing in the XFL increased?

Tim Tebow just finished his fourth season of playing minor league baseball. He ended his Triple A season injured and batting 163. Despite showing a bit of promise. It appears that Tebow will be nothing more than a career minor leaguer.

The Mets are reportedly willing to bring Tebow back for the 2020 season. Tebow has been a good draw at the gate for the Mets and minor league baseball.

When people mention potential star power with the XFL. They mention Trevor Lawrence, Colin Kaepernick, Tim Tebow and to a lesser extent Johnny Manziel.

Vince McMahon back in the 2018 XFL relaunch press conference was asked about Tebow and spoke about him favorably. It wouldn’t shock me if the XFL reaches out to Tim Tebow.

The question is does Tebow want to play pro football. This would be his last chance with the XFL. The money would be there for sure. Does Tim Tebow have the desire anymore of playing. Does he want to go through the physical toll of playing football again? Even though he is 32, that’s not an ancient age for quarterbacks to play. Tebow might be content on never ever playing quarterback or football for the rest of his life. The XFL should and probably will reach out.

This topic again...…

I suppose. The XFL could reach out. I get it from a business standpoint. I just don't think that Tebow has playing football in his heart anymore.

They can ask but I doubt that is in his cards and likely haven't done any kind of football activities since going for his baseball career.

They have a better chance at Colin at this point and if Colin was smart and wants to increase his chances of the NFL again, he should come to the XFL. With all these reports of him still wanting to place. I don't see the NFL looking at him at this point being away from the game for so long now. Go to the XFL and prove that you still have it would be he best option IMO.

Given the offensive minds, who would want Tebow? I'd be pissed if XFL DC drafted him.

It’s a good question of fit. If Tebow is motivated. He could be fun in an RPO system. The league has a lot of run and shoot/air raid offenses. Not sure where Tebow would fit schematically. He would definitely be a conversion type specialist.

The only coach that I could think of who has shown flexibility in terms of potentially implementing some RPO elements is Kevin Gilbride. He added some staff members with history in utilizing mobile quarterbacks. Gilbride has talked about offensive versatility. So maybe Tebow could be a NY quarterback.

It wouldn't hurt to try. There've been quarterbacks who made comebacks later than 32 (Todd Collins comes to mind) and in fact, not being worn and torn for those years may actually be to his benefit.

But... as long as Tebow thinks he still has a chance at MLB, I suspect his answer's going to be no, and history has shown that even if there's no chance that he realistically ever gets there, he might just be stubborn enough to keep beating that dead horse because of how his NFL career ended up (and how the Broncos reached ridiculously for him somehow counts as proving the haters wrong).
