Re: Proposed XFL 2020 Schedule

I posted this in the Tampa Bay forum, but I think it's worth exploring playing Week 9 at Tropicana Field on Saturday afternoon and soaking up the WWE fans coming in for Wrestlemania. I also think the XFL would be very wise to push for traditional broadcasting slots. Noon and 3:30 on Saturdays; 1 and...

Re: AAF Update Thread

I assume these green seat covers are for UAB, but they make the stadium look even worse for the Iron. At least the empty seats match their color scheme.

Re: AAF Update Thread

San Antonio and Orlando are the only cities pulling their weight for the AAF. Laying failure at their feet seems backward to me.

Re: AAF Update Thread

Birmingham might not have 1,000 people.

Edit: It's not quite that bad. I'll say 5K.

Re: The XFL's Player Tier and Pay System Reveal

For comparison, the 2018 CFL salary cap was $5.2 million CAD, which would be ~$3.9 million USD.

Re: The final four XFL Head Coach/GM openings

And at the XFL level, that's a feature, not a bug. The players you develop will be less likely to leave for the NFL because of your offense. I'd bet his team would do extremely well. He retired due to the grind of the job, so I have no idea if he would be interested in an XFL-level workload. But it ...

Re: The final four XFL Head Coach/GM openings

I don't think the XFL will consider Paul Johnson, but they should. Schematic diversity will make the league more interesting, and running an option offense will allow the team to target first- or second-rate option-style players rather than third-rate NFL-style players. But if it was going to come t...

Re: Marc Trestman to Coach XFL Tampa Bay

Maybe he'll be interested in the DC job. But the XFL is working overtime to project an image of decency, and Leavitt was fired from USF for hitting one of his players and then interfering with the subsequent investigation.

Re: XFL Team Names Update

I thought that the XFL had indicated that their approach to logo development and branding would be different from the AAF who had one agency design all of the logos and team branding concepts. The XFL has stated at one point that each team would be working with a local agency in their city for logo...

Re: AAF Update Thread

Memphis and San Diego both wearing dark jerseys would be less frustrating if we didn't know that Memphis has white jerseys they could wear. I know they're the home team, but come on.
