Re: Final Team Names Prediction List

I've given up predicting these because it's such a shot in the dark. At least with the coaches you had a pool of coaches out there you knew were candidates. I like Mammoths but honestly the Le Brea Tar Pits kinda go unnoticed in LA. It's not a big part of the identity. Sabercats, in a vacuum, is a c...

Re: Expansion 2021?

If the league expands to 10 teams I think we'd see teams in Philly and Chicago. If it expands to 12 teams I think we'd see Philly, Chicago, San Diego, and either San Antonio, Orlando, or maybe Sacramento. San Francisco very nearly got a team but apparently Luck felt Seattle would've been a better w...

Re: Expansion 2021?

Just curious is there any shot for expansion if the league last past the 1st year? I've heard that they are looking at Birmingham, Orlando, San Antonio , and San Diego. Are those the cities that they would be looking at because those are the most successful cities in the AAF? Seeing that the XFL lo...

Re: Future XFL Cities- Positives and Negatives

Yes, they trademarked a bunch of domains before unveiling the initial eight: https://domainnamewire.com/2018/11/30/xfl-cities/ The list of honorable mentions: Atlanta Austin Chicago Cleveland Detroit Kansas City Minnesota Nashville Orlando Philadelphia Phoenix Pittsburgh San Francisco My money is o...

Re: Does the Daryl Johnston hire open the door for more hires like him?

I wonder how much latitude HC/GMs have with setting their staff. Like, was each coach given set vacancies they had to hire for? Or did the league say "here's your personnel budget, hire as you wish" (or something to that effect)? Maybe Johnson's role was Stoops' creation. In lieu of hiring another p...

Re: Ranking The XFL’s Eight Head Coaches

Here's how I ranked them on reddit: 1. Marc Trestman, Tampa Bay - One of the most boring hires but arguably the best. Sure, he sucked for the Bears, but the talent level in the XFL will be much more comparable to the CFL. All he did in that league was in three Grey Cups. 2. Bob Stoops, Dallas - Most...

Re: June Jones hired as XFL Houston head coach

My knee jerk reaction is this kinda feels like the Gilbride hire. Feels a tad underwhelming but he's got tons of experience, a fair amount of success, and strong local ties. Not sure what more you could ask. They can't all be Bob Stoops. If I were to update my coach rankings I'd list it this way: 1....

Re: The XFL Calendar

To be clear, I think an app is fine as part of a general communications plan, and I'm sure the XFL will have something. I just don't think it will be or should be a key piece of the overall product. I'm on board with this. I would like to see a reasonably useful app. Something that essentially serv...

Re: XFL Los Angeles head coach Announced!

Here's mine: 1. Trestman - It's not enough he has the most experience at this level (professional but sub NFL), but he's been exceptionally successful at said level. The only question is how he adjusts to the XFL's rule book. 2. Stoops - Honestly, I was tempted to put Hamilton here, just because he ...

Re: Final round of league testing scheduled for June with The Spring League

If I'm reading that right are they saying they've ditched the running clock and 1 yard neutral zone rules?
