Re: XFL to Hold Training Camp in Houston

I think the league is going to have their big draft in late September/Early October. It will give the 8 teams time to scout and set their draft boards. It will also put the league in position to sign all of their players to league contracts. This is before they are entered into the draft pool. There...

Re: This Is The XFL Show - Episode 65: 2 Coaches in 1 Week

I listened to the show as always.

I think there's a chance that we don't get any coaching news this coming week. It would be nice to get one announced. It will probably get lost in the mix with all the heavy focus on the NFL draft this week.

Re: LA Head Coach possibilities

Gotcha. I think that's too strongly worded. An active NFL position coach leaving for an XFL head coaching job might be unlikely, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. I get what GDawg is stating. It's highly unlikely. It's several factors. Stability of an NFL job, pay, family etc The origi...

Re: LA Head Coach possibilities

Glad this thread was started. There are a lot of coaches with California ties. That doesn’t mean that the coach hired will specifically have experience in that region but it doesn’t hurt. LA can be an attractive location. Coaches with name value who have Cali ties would be Jack Del Rio, John Fox and...

Re: LA Head Coach possibilities

Maybe me? I coach HS football up here in South Dakota. My hire would be about on the same level as these last few they’ve announced. This league has lost a lot of steam with me over these last few hires. Ugh Only 6 hires. The league has a national championship coach, a 2 time Super Bowl championshi...

Re: XFL Houston HC Possibilities

Jones, much like Kevin Gilbride had a notorious NFL moment. Gilbride was punched by Buddy Ryan and Jones had the televised argument with Jeff George. Both are pass happy coaches. Both ran the run and shoot. Gilbride got punched in the face for throwing too much and not killing clock. That Jones-Geo...

Re: XFL Houston HC Possibilities

Jeff Fisher and Jim Leavitt were talked to about The Houston job. Mike Singletary would be my choice. Born in Houston. Went to high school in Houston. Coaches in Dallas. Mike Riley would be interesting for The Houston job as well. He just coached in San Antonio. The guy has HC experience in every l...

Re: Jonathan Hayes Is Officially The XFL St. Louis Head Coach

According to XFL2k the TV deals are finalized. That lines up with Ollie saying that the partners were at the Spring League. I can't wait to see how much money they'll make from these deals. If they make next to nothing like the AAF, that's bad. If they make around 100 mil a season, that will be a g...
