Re: Talent Comparison XFL 1.0 vs AAF vs XFL 2.0

I rank it somewhere below the UFL (which set the standard for the level of talent a second-tier pro league could get), slightly above the AAF and substantially above the FXFL. They've landed legit second-string NFL players and solid coaches. The closest I can compare it to is arena football at its p...

So that cements Johnson as the starter in LA, doesn't it?

Re: The mainstream sports media coverage of the XFL

I can't believe someone here is actually arguing that Booger McFarland is actually a good color analyst.

Look, I'm no fan of Collinsworth, but McFarland adds absolutely nothing of substance to any game he calls, other than that gimmicky contraption they tried to put him in last season.

Re: The mainstream sports media coverage of the XFL

Oh it'll happen, they're about to drop large cash to get Romo (and it isn't for MNF--though it might be for a year). They want a Sunday package, and given that ABC hasn't done Sunday football (other the World League) since the USFL, that's where the XFL comes in. They don't do "Look. Football. Two ...

Re: Fox team to include Greg Olsen (TE Carolina)

The implication I get is that it looks like Fox will be going with the AAF format of not using set broadcast teams every week. Menefee/Klatt will be the lead team, but the secondary feed might have Burkhardt/Olsen or some other pairing. (Which, if it's a hit... could a Joe Buck Thursday prime time g...

ESPN's CFP championship coverage gives insights into potential XFL telecast features

Tonight, of course, is the College Football Playoff National Championship, and this year, like every year, ESPN covers the game with a Megacast: multiple camera angles, broadcast teams and perspectives. One I noticed was new this year was the Refcast: the audio feed is mostly referee chit-chat and m...

Re: Article From The Athletic Gives Insight Into Ticket Sales

The thing is that New York's metro area is about 23 million... by far the biggest in the USA. They've always had respectable attendance for football (except when teams were forced to play on Randalls Island). The UFL got 10k for their game at Giants Stadium. The Hitmen were second in the old XFL. B...
