Re: 2 more QBs go down

Hodges could be elevated to the active roster or The Steelers could go get a veteran like Landry Jones, Paxton Lynch or Brock Osweiler. Three potential XFL targets. Pittsburgh could also pluck Cardale Jones off the Seattle practice squad. These early season Major QB injuries have hurt the XFL. I wo...

Re: Will XFL have an NFL style play review system?

All we know about instant replay is that 1) yes, there will be one, and 2) it will be limited to 30 seconds. I, personally, wouldn't mind if a league scrapped it altogether. It has a tendency to disrupt the flow of the game, and let's be honest: how often does it correctly fix an officiating error? ...

Re: Will Ryan Mallett still be in the draft?

Is it felony DUI? If not, than he's going to get a look. If yes, his career's over... which is exactly what the XFL does NOT need: its best prospects disqualifying themselves.

As the AAF showed, you can't build a league around Mike Bercovici's and Luis Perez's and expect it to be good football.

Re: What are your eight XFL Tier One Quarterbacks?

The best analog I guess we can make is back to 2001, with the first round of the XFL Draft. Six of the eight first-round picks were quarterbacks. Three ended up being the starters: Casey Weldon, Charley Puleri and Jeff Brohm. The three others? Marcus Crandell got beat out in camp by tenth-round pick...

Re: What the hell is this??

Websites and press releases are cheap. Wait until the shovel is in the ground, so to speak, before getting worked up about this, Freedom, Pac Pro, etc. The Freedom Football League isn't happening. In fact, Marshawn Lynch stole one of the Freedom Football League teams, the Oakland Panthers and place...

Re: What the hell is this??

As for the NGL, they were supposedly going to start up last year. They never did. My suspicion is that they're one of those paper leagues that never gets off the ground.

Re: What the hell is this??

I'm not following how a fractured landscape makes the sport a disgrace. Too many egos and the unwillingness of the leagues to work together or even merge. At most there should be two leagues, one arena and one indoor due to the different rules. They're not substantially different rules. The only di...

Re: XFL games will feature premium sideline seating

That might explain the usage of the soccer-specific stadiums like Audi Field and ROKiT/Dignity Health in LA. Their front row seats are literally at eye level with the players. Not sure how Globe Life Park is configured for football but I know a lot of baseball parks have similar low sightlines; like...

Re: Coaches to NFL?

I wouldn't worry too much about the coaches leaving. The trend in the NFL has been to find younger, up-and-coming coordinators who haven't held head coaching positions in the NFL before. The three coaches that fit that mold are Hamilton in DC, Moss in LA and Hayes in STL. Coincidentally, all three q...
